They also provide a wide variety of services such as telephone services, VSAT, and broadband internet access services together with standard or HDTV. The Fixed Satellite Service offers services under two major category: wholesale services and managed services. The satellites used for FSS generally have a low power output. In addition, they require larger dish-style antennas for reception. They have less power than direct broadcasting satellites. The FSS works on three bands: C-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band.
